Our plan to create that place in old and new media; a home for honest talk, the real issues, and common sense solutions on-the-air, on-the-phone, and on-the-web.


Our television show and website aim to increase local business enterprise and to help facilitate working relationships within the Charlotte business community from which a model of mutual success is achieved.

Jack Brayboy is President and Chief Executive Officer of Brayboy Communications Inc. He is a proud native of Charlotte. Jack is a graduate of Garinger High School and a 2000 Garinger Hall of Fame inductee. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television and Motion Pictures from UNC-Chapel Hill. The creator of the Charlotte Small Business Spotlight, his career in broadcasting in Charlotte has also included serving as a host and producer of many original government, political, and community affairs programs at WTVI PBS Charlotte. His shows included “The Commish”, a behind the scenes, interpersonal look inside county government through the eyes of the Mecklenburg County Commissioners. He also hosted and produced three one hour shows documenting the 2009 Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Inner City Tour. Also in 2009, Brayboy, in conjunction with the Charlotte League of Women Voters, created and hosted television shows profiling candidates for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System Board of Education. He served as Debate Moderator for the District Two School Board election. He was also a reporter in the special series, “Facing the Mortgage Crisis”, profiling Charlotte area residents who successfully managed their way through the nation’s on going mortgage crisis. In 2008, Brayboy was Co-Host and News Anchor of Fox News Rising at WCCB TV Charlotte.

Brayboy began his career in broadcasting as an assignment editor at WSOC-TV in Charlotte. While there he became weekend news producer and a general assignment reporter. In 1982, Jack was hired as sports producer at WPVI-TV ABC Philadelphia. During his 23 years at WPVI, he rose to the ranks of reporter, executive producer and sports anchor. His experience includes coverage of multiple major sporting events including Super Bowls, NBA and NHL Championships, MLB World Series, 1988 Winter Olympics and numerous NCAA Basketball tournaments. His time in Philadelphia was noted on a number of occasions for excellence in sports broadcasting.

Jack has served as a Master of Ceremonies for various local events. He has volunteered his time for Friendship Trays. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Redeemer Pre-School and Family Development Center, part of the Regent System of School. He is an Elder and Past President of the Men’s Council at Memorial Presbyterian Church. His past community involvement includes service with Special Olympics, Big Brother and Big Sisters of Philadelphia, the Variety Club, Arthur Ashe Youth Foundation The National Adoption Center(board member), and with the Boy Scout Explorer Program(post leader).

Jack is a father of two, son Virgil, 18 and daughter Jiana, 3. He is happily married to Dr. Cheryl Butler-Brayboy Ph.D, Assistant Professor of English at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte.
